How to find us
So we have big contrast in land type. The farm consists of high limestone pasture including limestone pavement and limestone pasture with archaeological features. There is also species rich hay meadows, woodland, ponds and SSSI on the banks of the river Eden. Taking advantage of the high rainfall to do what we do best, grow grass for organic sheep production. The organic production runs alongside environmental schemes, from OELS, HLS and stewardship on the fell. Conservation is considered in most aspects of the business as one of our landlords is The John Strutt Conservation Foundation, we work very closely together to get a balance between farming organically and conservation.
We farm the full stratification of sheep production and most essentially a closed flock. Pure Swaledale ewes, Crossed Swaledale ewes, and Pure Bluefaced Leicester ewes are farmed to produce breeding sheep, store lambs and prime lambs. See our stock for sale
